ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION

ORP understands that resolving legal disputes efficiently and effectively is a priority for our clients. While traditional litigation can often be time-consuming, costly, and unpredictable, our Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services offer a more streamlined approach to resolving conflicts. ADR provides several advantages, including faster resolution, reduced costs, and greater flexibility compared to courtroom battles.

ORP has been entrusted by corporate clients to engage in Alternative Dispute Resolution process, mainly, arbitration at Asian International Arbitration Centre and various formal/informal mediation sessions.

CONVEYANCING

The Conveyancing Division has been advising and acting for property developers since its inception 5 years ago and todate has been empanelled as a panel conveyancing lawyer by different developers in more than 13 projects in differing localities. Together with our partnering firm, ORP also had the opportunity to act for and advise more than 17 local financiers for the disbursement of financing facilities for the purchase of properties via the primary market.

ORP currently boasts a 5-lawyer, 8-staff team to speedily and efficiently dispose of conveyancing matters concerning the sale of properties by developers. Since its inception, the Conveyancing team has optimized and iterated the conveyancing procedure to ensure accuracy and speed in the disposal of conveyancing matters. Coupled together with the Dispute Resolution Division of ORP, ORP has geared itself to adopt a pragmatic and sensible approach to resolve issues and disputes arising from the every-day conveyancing practice and has advised developers on the law in relation to the disposal of developer units.

ORP also regularly acts for vendors and purchasers in the secondary market and had also acted for financial institutions to facilitate the speedy drawdown of redemption and balance purchase price for sale of properties in the secondary market.

CORPORATE & COMMERCIAL

ORP is engaged in corporate advisory works, mergers and acquisitions and has represented its client’s interests in various commercial dealings involving the Government of Malaysia and GLCs, GLC of the Republic of China, foreign and local financial institutions, international trust and investment funds, private equity firms, venture capitalists, investment bankers and MNCs.

ORP is also active in the corporate finance and capital market sector, regularly acting for and/or advising companies listed on KLSE, NASDAQ, ASX, HKEX and SGX. ORP is experienced in mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, SPACs (as Malaysian Counsel), private placements, rights issues, SIS (ESOS), due diligence, providing legal opinion on Malaysian law and other capital market transactions.
